MTC recently sat down with several men (most of whom have since been released) who were serving six-month sentences at the Idaho CAPP facility in Kuna, ID. The facility was audited in early 2018 by the the Idaho Department of Correction to measure the success of its rehabilitation programs—and Idaho CAPP was the best in the state! We sat down these men to ask them how the programs are impacting their lives.

This interview is with Franklin Scruggs. Click on the video above to watch the interview or read below.

Question: How have the programs helped you personally?

Response: It has taught me about myself and about being effective in my communication with peers. It helps with peer pressure and it also helps get your point across to let others know that I am in recovery and that this is my priority now.

Question: Are the programs at Idaho CAPP effective?

Response: Yes. Outside of this program, I’ve been in a couple of other programs out of state and by far this is the best program that I’ve been in yet.

Question: Are the staff at Idaho CAPP helpful in your recovery efforts?

Response: Staff here is outstanding. They adhere to your needs. Problems? All you have to do is talk to them and open up and they will do what they can to help you out. They really want to see us go home.
