Social Responsibility Programs
Management & Training Corporation is committed to ensuring the highest standard of social responsibility at our corporate, facility, and project locations. We have set expectations for volunteerism in communities where we do business and for employing environmentally-sound “green” practices. MTC has also established health and wellness programs for employees and clients, and has developed a fatherhood workshop for our employees, students, offenders, and clients to gain a better understanding of the significant role fathers play in child development.
COMMUNITY SERVICE ACTIVITIES
MTC places a high priority on being a good neighbor in the communities where we do business. One way to do this is by encouraging our facilities to be active in their local communities and to work to become a well-recognized resource for community service and volunteer opportunities. In 2011, MTC-operated facilities completed more than 1,380,000 hours of community service and volunteer work across the nation working in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity and other local service groups.
GREEN INITIATIVES
MTC is constantly trying to lower our environmental impact. Implementing comprehensive recycling programs and installing energy-efficient lighting at our facilities are just a few of the steps MTC has taken to accomplish this. Management & Training Corporation has also implemented an innovations program which rewards our facilities for developing new and innovative ways to become more environmentally-responsible.
HEALTH AND WELLNESS INITIATIVES
MTC understand the importance of promoting a healthy workforce. To accomplish this, it is necessary to do everything possible to maintain the health of our employees, students, detainees and other clients. The company supports a number of wellness initiatives at its facilities to combat obesity, tobacco use, and other lifestyle issues that can hinder wellness. MTC offers opportunities for employees to improve their fitness in a supportive environment and provides incentives for employees who set health and wellness goals.
FATHERHOOD INITIATIVES
MTC is committed to supporting the important role fathers play in a child’s life. The effects of father absence on poverty, maternal and child health, incarceration, crime, teen pregnancy, child abuse, drug and alcohol abuse, education, and childhood obesity are profound. MTC has developed a fatherhood workshop for employees, Job Corps students, and offenders to participate in as part of their orientation program. The objective of the workshop is to identify strategies for staff, students, workforce development clients, and correctional facility offenders to be more engaged and effective parents.
