| Background: |
The East Texas Treatment Facility is located within the city limits of Henderson, Texas. This facility is the largest licensed treatment facility in the State of Texas. The facility is a cogender population and houses post-adjudicated offenders while providing chemical dependency treatment.
MTC is responsible for providing all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance and repair of all buildings and grounds, safety and security, food and medical services, rehabilitation programs to male and female population. |

Henderson is older than the state of Texas itself. It was founded in 1843 and is the county seat of Rusk County. The city as 19 historical markers that include anti-bellum homes dating from the 1880's and the Daisy Bradford #3 Discovery Well six miles northwest of Henderson. Henderson's downtown area is designated as a National Register Historic District and is one of the most dramatic and charming downtowns in the East Texas area. |
