MTC provides career and technical training through its Job Corps and International Development divisions. The company also provides comprehensive health care through the MTC Medical division.
This U.S. Department of Labor-funded job training program serves young men and women, ages 16 to 24. Job Corps places about 80 percent of its students in jobs, the military or higher education.
MTC currently trains approximately 12,000 students each year and operates more Job Corps centers across the country than any other management provider, employing nearly 4,200 people in positions including:
- Career counselor
- Certified instructor
- Human resources professional
- Residential advisor
Since expanding into private corrections in 1987, MTC has grown to be a leader in the field. MTC operates facilities in several states with the capacity to serve 29,534 offenders and employing nearly 5,000 people in positions such as:
- Correctional officer
- Food service specialist
- Substance abuse counselor
The MTC Medical division offers the correctional medical industry the benefit of its combined experience in full-service security, medical, dental, mental health, pharmaceutical and records services in prisons and jails. Positions in the division include:
- Dental assistant
- Medical director
MTC ECONOMIC & SOCIAL DEVELOPMENT
In 2004, MTC expanded its global training efforts to include International Workforce Development in Iraq. MTC trained and placed thousands of Iraqi citizens. Additional International Workforce Development Projects have been completed in China, Mongolia, Sudan, Tunisia and elsewhere. This MTC division continues to grow with additional international projects. Positions in the division include:
- Curriculum developers
- Labor market analysts
- Public-Private Partnership liaisons
- Teacher trainers
- Technical, vocational, education training specialists (TVET)
