MTC Medical Overview

MTC has a long history of providing medical and dental care to the people it serves.  This tradition began with the medical care being provided at MTC-operated Job Corps centers.  MTC provides medical care for thousands of students at its Job Corps centers each year.  More recently MTC entered into the arena of providing medical care to inmates and detainees at correctional facilities.  Initially, MTC partnered with another other correctional medical care provider to form a joint venture called First Medical Management (FMM) to service these contracts.   MTC chose to undertake this venture independently and founded MTC Medical in 2005.

MTC Medical offers a unique blend of clinical and security expertise, insuring timely delivery of balanced and effective correctional health care.  MTC Medical’s health care experts offer correctional care at all levels, including the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Immigration & Customs Enforcement, state departments of corrections and jail facilities.   MTC Medical and FMM provide health care services to more than 7,000 inmates.  These inmates receive medical care through an average of 8,500 appointments each month.

MTC Medical consistently exceeds customer expectations and the exacting standards of the American Correctional Association, the National Commission of Correctional Health Care and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Hospital Organizations.

Incarcerated offenders often experience a higher incidence of significant health problems than the community as a whole. This is often the result of high-risk behaviors including drug and alcohol abuse.  Beyond providing accurate diagnoses and effective treatment, our clinical team emphasizes lifestyle changes essential to successful rehabilitation through health education initiatives and individualized case management.
