MTC Works

Since 1990, Management & Training Corporation's innovative workforce development program, MTC Works, has provided employment and skills development training to workers in three Oregon counties. A creative approach to employment and skill development for dislocated workers, youth, adults, and special populations is one reason MTC Works continues to be a top performing contractor for the United States Department of Labor and the United States Department of Human Services. Each year MTC Works serves about 8,000 clients in Northwestern Oregon's Clatsop, Columbia and Tillamook Counties.

MTC Works Overview

Since 1981, MTC has provided state-of-the-art technical academic, career and technical education and training to disadvantaged populations in areas such as: healthcare, transportation, plumbing, carpentry, painting, welding, business and finance, hospitality, and security and law enforcement. After honing these training skills through its Job Corps and Corrections divisions, MTC chose to expand its expertise into another area of domestic workforce development, called MTC Works.

Employer Information

MTC Works provides employers with a vast array of services to meet their business and employment needs. Employers have access to Interview Stream, a virtual program to conduct interviews with numerous candidates. MTC Works provides interview rooms, computer labs, training facilitators, audio visual equipment, and employment retraining to applicants. MTC Works is a strategic partner of Profiles International, a world leader in employment evaluation and assessments.

MTC Keys to Success

MTC Works serves both employers and job seekers by providing skill upgrades and employment opportunities to unemployed and under-employed workers. MTC Works is recognized as a leader within the Region I Workforce Investment Board, the Workforce Response Team and the WorkSource Northwest Oregon. Key to success include: a strong management team, comprehensive talent development programs, customized training, effective job search tools, and aggressive follow-up systems.

Job Seeker Information

MTC Works provides quality and value-added customer service to job seekers who access the WorkSource Northwest Oregon Centers. Job seekers are provided with workforce development services to broaden and upgrade their employability skills. They also develop impressive resumes, learn effective job search skills, and enhance interviewing and follow-up skills.
