Georgia Senator visits Atlanta Job Corps Center
United States Senator Johnny Isakson (R-GA) paid a visit to the Atlanta Job Corps Center (AJCC) this spring. The Senator has been a long time supporter of the Job Corps program and was well received by the staff and students.
AJCC Director Annie T. Matthews lead Senator Isakson on a tour of the facility, which serves students from all across the state of Georgia. The Atlanta center provides students with high school educations and diplomas, vocational training and advance programming.
“Senator Isakson has spent more than 30 years serving his fellow Georgians with a common sense and results-oriented approach,” Matthews said. “We are fortunate to have him in Washington, advocating policies that will allow us to grow and create opportunities for young adults.”
The Senator said he feels the Atlanta Job Corps Center provides an excellent program that arms young adults with the career and life skills they need to succeed as they transition into adulthood.
Matthews added, “Senator Isakson has demonstrated a true understanding of what it takes to properly train young adults. He understands young American's are the key to improving our American economy and making our country better."
