Brunswick Job Corps students repair donated vehicle

Students at Georgia’s Brunswick Job Corps Center have saved local taxpayers a couple of thousand dollars.  Automotive repair students at the Management & Training Corporation (MTC)-operated center recently painted and repaired a maintenance vehicle for the Camden County Fire Rescue unit.

The vehicle was donated to the firefighters by a local gas and light company.  The County’s fire rescue department bought materials for the improvements while center students provided free labor.

Brunswick Job Corps Center Business & Community Liaison Markisha McCullough said the student enjoyed the hands-on experience.  “This is a win-win situation for everyone,” she said.  “It gives our students an opportunity to give back to the community.”

Center collision repair instructor Bob Edwards hopes to see his students get more community service projects in the future.  “Everyone benefits from projects like this,” he said.

Brunswick Job Corps Center students donated an estimated $2000 worth of labor to the project.
