Clearfield City praises the community’s Job Corps Center

Utah’s Clearfield Job Corps Center has a big supporter. The city of Clearfield has given the center a ringing endorsement in the November/December issue of its city newsletter.

The article describes what Job Corps is, the population it serves and the kinds of educational and vocational offerings available at the Clearfield center. Center Director Dean Hoffman is quoted in the article saying, “If a student is willing to spend the time necessary to gain the vocational and employability skills required to be successful in today’s workforce…Job Corps is the answer for them.”

The Clearfield center – one of the largest of all 122 Job Corps centers – offers training in 13 different trades. The center is also ranked 21 st out of those 122 centers for overall performance.

Melissa Freigang, Clearfield’s Business & Community Liaison comments in the article, “Once they’re trained we don’t just send them out the door! They’ve learned job searching skills such as writing a resume, searching employment websites and interviewing skills. We partner with many local businesses to assist in job placement. Nearly all of our students are placed into jobs, advanced training or the military before they leave our center.
