New MTC Job Corps Regional Vice President named Job Corps veteran Tom Fitzwater has been named regional vice president of Management & Training Corporation’s (MTC’s) newly-created northeastern region. Fitzwater will oversee the management of seven of the 26 Job Corps centers MTC operates, or partners in operating, across the United States. “Tom has been with MTC for 30 years,” said Training Programs Sr. Vice President John Pedersen. “He has worked his way up through the Job Corps division and knows it very well. We couldn’t be more pleased to bring his level of expertise into this new position.” Fitzwater began his Job Corps career in 1979 at the Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums, Pennsylvania. Following stops at centers Iowa, Utah and Ohio, Fitzwater returned to the eastern Pennsylvania Center in 2002, as its director. “I am very excited about this new challenge,” Fitzwater said. “During my 30 years with MTC I have worked in nearly all of the national Job Corps regions and have gained a lot of experience along the way. I look forward to sharing the things I have learned with employees and students.” Fitzwater oversees management at Job Corps centers in Delaware, Massachusetts, New York and Pennsylvania. He has remained based in Pennsylvania, while making frequent trips to the MTC corporate headquarters in Centerville, Utah. MTC is the third largest private employer in Utah, with more than 9000 full and part-time employees across the United States. In Utah, MTC employs nearly 700 people at its corporate office, the Clearfield Job Corps Center and through its Utah and Montana Job Corps recruiting contract. In Pennsylvania, MTC employs nearly 500 people at the Keystone, Philadelphia and Red Rock Job Corps Centers. (Posted 1/20/2010) |
