Dalby Correctional Facility hosts appreciation dinner

Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility staff members hosted an appreciation dinner for their Post, Texas community leaders this fall.  Key staff members for Physicians Network Association (PNA) – the medical subcontractor for the facility – also joined the celebration.

The evening took on a special significance with the announcement that the Dalby facility has completed the requirements for prestigious American Correctional Association (ACA) accreditation.  The MTC-operated prison had just passed the ACA audit the morning of the dinner.

MTC began its partnership in Post and Garza County, Texas on May 6, 1998, when ground was broken on the facility.  It was completed just over a year later, and began receiving its first inmates in October 1999.  Following an expansion just last year, the site now can accommodate up to 1921 inmates.

Dalby Warden Kerry Dixon welcomed guests to the dinner with words of appreciation.  He also told those gathered how much Dalby employees have done over the past decade to assist the community in projects such as: the United Way, Relay for Life, Trailblazers and various youth events.

“You can look at any civic or charitable function being held in Post, Texas and almost always identify a Dalby employee participating,” Warden Dixon said.  Photographs of Dalby employees volunteering in these activities were also on display throughout the evening.

Approximately 120 guests attended the dinner and were served by members of the Post High School National Honor Society.
