Chamber of Commerce names Dalby facility Business of the Year

The Post (TX) Area Chamber of Commerce announced the MTC-operated Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility is their community’s Business of the Year. The prison was honored during a recent banquet ceremony. Warden Kerry Dixon accepted the award on behalf of the facility.

The Dalby Unit has operated in Garza County Texas for just over ten years. It employs more than 300 people, providing millions of dollars of positive economic impact to the area each year. The prison has an inmate capacity of 1921 inmates.

The facility is certified by the American Correctional Association (ACA), the Correctional Education Association (CEA) and the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health Care (JCAHO).

In presenting the award to Warden Dixon, Chamber member Chip Polk said, “The positive impact of their community service has touched many facets of Post and Garza County.”

Each year Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility staff members donate time to a variety of volunteer service projects in the West Texas community.
