Diboll Correctional Center staff and inmates serve their Texas community

Residents of the east Texas community of Diboll are benefiting from the on-going volunteer work being done by staff and inmates at the Management & Training Corporation-operated Diboll Correctional Center.

Many facility staff members live in the community and are active in local schools, churches, youth organizations and community-based service groups.

Last fall, Diboll employees collected non-perishable food for the local food bank and the Diboll Christian Outreach organization. Hundreds of pounds of food was donated for the less fortunate in the community.

Most Diboll inmates are also pleased to provide service. Inmates from the facility’s Construction Carpentry II program recently constructed and painted a wooden MTC sign. It will be prominently displayed at the center.

Inmates from the carpentry program also constructed a children’s playhouse for a local community group to use in its fundraising efforts.

Community service is a hallmark at all MTC-operated correctional facilities and Job Corps centers. Staff and inmates at the Diboll Correctional Center are proud to follow in that nearly thirty-year tradition.
