Flag flown over Capitol donated to Keystone Job Corps Center An American flag at the Management & Training Corporation-operated Keystone Job Corps Center in Drums, Pennsylvania is being flown in honor of a center graduate killed last year in Washington, D.C. Pennsylvania Congressman Paul Kanjorski – a longtime supporter of the center – arranged to have the flag presented to former Keystone Job Corps Center Director Tom Fitzwater, in memory of Stephen Tyrone Johns, who graduated from the facility in 1992. The 39-year-old Johns was working as a security guard at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington on June 10, 2009. It was Johns who opened the museum door for James von Brunn, an 89-year-old white supremacist. Brunn then shot Johns several times after entering. “When you are a student here, you become part of a family," Fitzwater said. " After learning of the tragic shooting, Congressman Kanjorski arranged to have the flag flown over the Capitol. We are proud to accept this in the memory of Stephen Johns." A federal grand jury handed down a seven-count indictment against von Brunn. Four of the charges make him eligible for the death penalty. The suspect died in custody on January 6, 2010, while awaiting trial. (Posted 2/10/2010)
