Ohio correctional facility donates vehicles to a worthy cause Staff members at Ohio’s North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility recently donated two fully depreciated vehicles to a local organization called Kars-4-Kids. The donated vehicles – a used Plymouth Voyager and a 13-passenger Dodge van – will benefit an organization within Kars-4-Kids called JOY (Joy for Our Youth). The organization valued the vehicles as a $1000 contribution. JOY is a national organization which provides spiritual, emotional and practical support for children of the Jewish faith who are impoverished or from dysfunctional families. Established in 2000, JOY is a registered national, 501(c)(3), non-profit organization. JOY's primary focus is on children who, without intervention, are at high risk to experience failure, social challenges, depression and other factors that lead to anti-social, self-destructive behavior. By becoming actively involved in these children's lives over the course of their school years, JOY equips them with the stability and success they need to build wholesome, functional families of their own. North Coast Correctional Treatment Facility staff members say they were pleased to donate the used vehicles this year, and look forward to assisting Kars-4-Kids and JOY in the future. (11/10/08) |
