Former director returns to New York’s Oneonta Job Corps Center

The Oneonta Job Corps Center has brought back a previous director for a return engagement at the upstate New York facility.  John Henry Young has taken over at the vocational and educational training center this summer.

Young first served as the center’s director in 2005.  He departed when management of the center transitioned in early 2006 to Chugach Industries and Management & Training Corporation (MTC), current operators of the center.

Oneonta Job Corps Center Business & Community Liaison Victoria White said Young travelled all the way back across the country, from the Phoenix area, to resume his position.

The 35-acre Oneonta Job Corps Center has a student capacity of 370 men and women, ages 16 to 24. The center offers instruction in automobile collision repair, nursing assistance, construction, cement masonry, welding, culinary arts and other disciplines.

Nearly all center students (86%) are from New York State.  The majority of those hail from one of the five New York City boroughs
