New Idaho prison warden named as opening draws near
January 25, 2010 –
– Construction is continuing, on schedule and on budget, at the new 432-bed, minimum security substance abuse treatment facility south of Boise. Ground was broken on the Idaho Department of Corrections’ prison in July 2008. The new Correctional Alternative Placement Program (CAPP) facility is scheduled to begin accepting inmates this May. The site will be operated by Utah-based Management & Training Corporation (MTC).

Three students from Sierra Nevada Job Corps Center (SNJCC) will travel to San Francisco next week to compete in the Regional Food Expo Competition. The students will represent Nevada's Job Corps program in the competition between students from 13 Job Corps centers on the West coast.

August 18, 2009 –Employees at the Management & Training Corporation (MTC) central office saw more than a year’s worth of hard, detailed work recognized last week by the American Correctional Association (ACA). The MTC central office received ACA accreditation during the international organization’s 139th Congress of Correction, in Nashville, Tennessee. The Centervillebased company becomes the first-ever private corrections operator to earn this accreditation..

Emergency response agencies to make use of center  
May 18, 2009 – Clearfield Job Corps Center faculty and students will have their normal routine turned upside down Wednesday (May 20), when an Air Force Thunderbird jet is "mock" crashed into the educational facility as part of a multi-agency, multi-jurisdictional disaster training exercise. Emergency response crews from Weber and Davis Counties – and Hill Air Force Base – will participate.

The annual MTC Student Leadership Conference hosted about 70 students from Job Corps centers spanning the country from Massachusetts to Hawaii.
