Westover Job Corps Center students lend a "helping hand"

Westover Job Corps Center students in Western Massachusetts offered assistance this spring to their local Rotary Club. The students assisted community volunteers to create a happy Easter for area families in need.

Each year on Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas, the Chicopee Rotary Club’s "Helping Hands" program provides baskets full of all the food necessary to prepare a traditional holiday meal. For Easter this year, 145 food baskets were assembled and distributed throughout the community. Westover students helped with the project.

This was just one of many projects the Westover center has undertaken over the past year. Overall, the center performed more than 5000 hours of community service in 2009. Students and staff members at the center are well on their way to meeting or exceeding that total in 2010
