A Letter of Gratitude from a Man Incarcerated at MTC’s North Central Facility

The MTC corporate office recently received a letter from an incarcerated man at the North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio. MTC operates the facility for the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The letter was sent by Joseph Ellis:

Hello,

I am one of your inmates at North Central Correctional Complex! Since [arriving] at North Central in 2013, I have completed my GED and took many, many programs.

When the staff here see hard effort, they recognize that effort and get us through the programs we are trying to take. My expected release date is 4/14/2024, and because of MTC, I have a new sense of direction in my life. I am currently a program aide and have the daily opportunity and satisfaction [of] helping other inmates.

There are those offenders who still do bad things. However, those offenders who want to do the right thing, opportunities are endless!

Thank you, MTC!

P.S.  You guys helped me learn my purpose and gave me insight on my life mission statement.
