Cleveland Correctional Center Named Business of the Month

Since MTC took over the operation of the Cleveland Correctional Center, in Cleveland, Texas, back in 2015, Warden Michael Shaw and his staff have been striving diligently to become an active part of the community and a responsive corporate citizen.

That hard work was validated recently as the facility was named the Business of the Month by the Greater Cleveland Chamber of Commerce. The facility was recognized for its involvement within the community—especially for helping with the city’s holiday events. Chamber Committee Chair Charlie Rice commended the Cleveland facility for all it does including providing programs that help incarcerated individuals change their lives. He stated:

“Cleveland Correctional Center/MTC has a proven rehabilitation program that helps their residents develop skills that allow them to ease into productive living upon release. Thanks to Mike Upshaw and his group, they have also provided many artistic talents to the City of Cleveland and the Chamber, including Christmas and banquet décor.”
