He faced surgery, and caring medical staff eased his fears

“The staff here is amazing,” says Robert Deaton who’s serving time at the IAH Detention Center in Livingston, Texas.

Robert sent a letter thanking medical staff for the excellent treatment he received and later went on camera to share his story.

“I came here and, you know, got faced with some really hard news.”

But caring and competent medical staff helped put Robert at ease and helped get him ready for surgery.

“The staff really helped me out as far as taking care of all my outside doctor’s appointments, getting me in here and seeing me pretty quick.”

He was under medical observation two days before and three days after surgery.

“They really check on me all the time and made sure I was OK, made sure I didn’t need anything.”

He says staff members’ attention and sincere concern made a big difference in his life.

“I just really want to say that I love these ladies for what they did. They really and truly made a big impact, a big change in my life especially when I look at how these ladies view their jobs and how well they take care of patients and people.”
