Ed Karlau lives in St. Petersburg, Florida. His daughter, Danielle, was incarcerated at the Gadsden Correctional Facility in Quincy, Florida.  He was so pleased with the way she was treated that he wrote a thank-you note to Warden Jerry Buscher:

Mr. Buscher, 

My name is Ed Karlau, and I am the father of Danielle Karlau. In our conversations, she has told me how much she liked working with you and your staff. She has worked very hard in her time there to earn the trust and respect that you have shown her. I want to personally thank you for your intervention so she could attend the cosmetology course.  She has been trying to get into this class for the last three years. This means a lot to Danielle and our family.  Again, thank you.
