In a project called, “Operation Varnish,” Fayette resident Larry Jackson and his students at Wilkinson County Correctional Facility (WCCF) are turning pallets into bookcases for the Wilkinson County School District. Jackson is the instructor for WCCF’s Facilities Care program. He is pictured here, on the left, with Fred Doss. The bookcase being displayed, which has a walnut fin-ish, was made from pallets. In addition to being an instructor for WCCF, Jackson is the pastor of Mercy Seat Baptist Church in Church Hill.
