Dear Editor,

The entire community of Post breathed a collective sigh of relief last week when the 10-year extension of The Dalby Unit contract was announced. This facility is a vital part of our community not only because of the more than 300 people it employs, but, as importantly, the involvement the unit and its employees have in our town. The Dalby Unit is first to step up to assist with benefits for local people in need, fund-raisers for local organizations, programs benefiting our community and scholarships for our local youth.

They are a vital part of our community and are always willing to assist in any way possible. The support they offer is always done with a positive attitude by the staff involved and the people we have dealt with personify “community spirit”.

We look forward to our continued relationship with The Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility and know that our community will continue to thrive under this partnership.
