Residents of the Idaho Correctional Alternative Placement Program facility, in Kuna, ID, commented on the environment at the prison and how staff treat them.

James Arnold:

“Well, there’s always a correctional officer that’s close by, and they’re also very helpful, too, I mean they’re very open. If you have a question or if you have a concern, they’re more than happy to get the answer for you.”

Gregg Miller:

“There’s plenty of correctional officers in the units, at your hand, anytime you need somebody, they’re there.”

“Yeah, everybody treats everybody with respect. I think it goes both ways in here, for sure.”

The men also spoke about the programming the facility provides to help them overcome the challenges that got them in trouble.

James Arnold:

“I wouldn’t make it on probation without having these tools that they gave me.”

Justin Landry:

“Yeah, I think they give us plenty of options to try to better ourselves and some flexibility in that.  And if one wants to succeed in life, there’s plenty of resources here to do it of your own accord.”

Gregg Miller:

“You can figure that your time here is giving you a head start in life, on your next chapter in your life.”
