Filimoehala is scheduled to graduate from the Maui Center later this month, and then head off for advanced training in San Jose, Calif. “It changed my life a lot,”Filimoehala said about Hawaii Job Corps. “I just thought I was going to be a bum all my life.” Job Corps helps eligible young adults ages 16-24 complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers and assists them in obtaining employment or higher education. Many of the 2018 graduates had moved on and were not able to attend the celebration.
