Chaw Sein Found Great Success at Hubert H. Humphrey Job Corps

Chaw Sein was intrigued by the idea of the Job Corps program. She spoke with an admissions counselor and took a tour of the campus at the Hubert H. Humphrey Center in Minnesota. She was immediately sold.

“I am proud of myself for coming to Job Corps,” she says, “and get training in the painting program.”

Because Chaw had already received her high school diploma, she was able to start on her technical training right away. The painting program sparked her interest from the beginning, and she found good connections with her classmates.

“Since I came to Job Corps, I have met a lot of friends that care about me. Whenever I’m down they try and talk with me.”

Chaw completed the painting program, also known as International Union of Painters and Allied Trades.

She received a variety of certifications. Once she obtained her training and certifications, she felt confident about getting a really good job and she did.

“I’m happy that Job Corps has a program like this for me.”

She was able to land a job at Artistic Finishes as a hand-stain applicator. She also works in the spray booth. She says there are two other painting graduates who also work there with her, which has made the transition a lot smoother.

“Job corps is a really good place that you can get trained for a job.”
