Hawaii Employer Partner Key to Job Corps Students’ Success

For over ten years, the Hawaii Job Corps Center has partnered with Ultimate Innovations, a premier landscaping company in the state. In addition to providing internship and employment opportunities for students, Ultimate Innovations has made generous donations to enhance the center’s resources and tools.

These employer partnerships help enhance student training which ultimately prepares them for greater success in the workforce.

Jack Morgan, operations manager at Ultimate Innovations, has shared his substantial knowledge and expertise in the landscaping industry for many years as an active member of the center’s workforce council. He takes time out of his busy schedule to review the trade curriculum, facility, equipment, and instructional methods to ensure students are prepared for the workforce.

His commitment to the Job Corps program was made evident when he unreservedly took on the role of becoming the center’s new workforce council chairperson. Jack has taken this position to a new level. His leadership has elevated the council’s contribution and positive impact on the technical training programs.  He knows the landscaping students by name, endorses them for employment, and provides updates to the center on how graduates are doing after they are hired.

“As a business in frequent need of entry level workers as well as workers of all skill levels,” says Jack, “we avidly support the Hawaii Job Corps Center. The breadth of training they provide to the young people they take in is preparation to be productive and engaged from the moment they’re hired. There is no other comparable workforce training program available.”

MTC has recognized Jack as the 2018 Community Supporter of the year!
