He’s Got a Great Smile and a Great Outlook on Life Thanks to Job Corps

Atterbury Job Corps Business & Community Liaison Josh Kuhn recently interviewed former student Kenneth Riggins on a video call.

Airman First Class Kenneth Riggins, U.S. Air Force, a former graduate of Atterbury Job Corps Center in Indiana was delighted to share his thoughts about the Job Corps program.

Kenneth enrolled in Job Corps in March of 2016 and graduated in less than a year. He completed two technical training programs, took part in the student government association, and helped give back to others.

After completing Job Corps, he joined the AmeriCorps program, worked on his associate degree in college, and eventually joined the Air Force. He currently works on refueling aircraft. He has grown even more and has matured into quite the young man.

Josh asked him how Job Corps helped him on his path in life.

Kenneth said, “I think that I would have to say the 5 Ps: Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance.”

He admitted that he was one of those students who didn’t fully appreciate Job Corps at first, but once he got out on his own, all the lessons that he learned in the program became clear.
