Job Corps: Believe

For Dayna Garcia, Job Corps taught her how to believe in herself and her potential. She says,

“From where I came from. You know, starting out. It’s not likely that people from my home area do anything spectacular. I mean you get good jobs, whatever you know like flipping burgers or whatever you do. But nobody does anything out there. You know they don’t push their limits.”

“Job Corps is the single best decision I have made in a long time. Job Corps is how I’m going to be stable. It’s how I’m going to be able to raise my son to have opportunities that I was never given, that I would have never been able to have. I want to provide. I can be a good mother. And that’s something that without this program, I wouldn’t have been able to do. Before this I didn’t have my GED, I didn’t have any education, I didn’t have the skills necessary. And after coming here, I had so many opportunities and so many chances to succeed and to thrive. And they believe in me.”
