A Labor of Love Prepares Shriver Students for Success

We all know how much good work Habitat for Humanity does in communities around the world. The organization is building a home right now for a local family in Fitchburg, Massachusetts.

Carpentry students from the Shriver Job Corps Center nearby Devens, MA are using their talents and newly acquired carpentry skills to put the home together. The students framed the house, installed windows, laid flooring, and put up the roof.

Carpentry student Kylar Brown says, “I like helping out in the community, and I also get experience working with other carpentry students. It makes me feel good.”

Habitat for Humanity leaders, city of Fitchburg officials, and a representative with state Representative Stephan Hay’s office visited the construction site to thank the students for their service.
