For Kristina Porreco, Job Corps has the answers for thousands of American youth struggling in the workforce. Kristina attended the Springdale Job Corps Center in Troutdale, Oregon. It wasn’t easy. She was a single mother at the age of 19, and she didn’t have many options. It was at Springdale Job Corps that Kristina learned the skills she needed to be successful in life. She says,

“The tax dollars that were invested in my training have been more than paid back in the years that I’ve been gainfully employed. We need as a society to have options other than college, as not everyone can attend school for four years, and the cost of college education is a barrier.”
