Home Schooling Wasn’t Working Out for This Young Woman, So She Went to Job Corps

“It has opened up so many different opportunities for me that you don’t get in regular schooling,” says Zoe Lucas who’s studying at MTC’s Wilmington Job Corps Center in Delaware. Zoe Lucas was home-schooled for a while but needed a change.

“About three years,” she explains, “and it was just becoming a drag.”

But now, thanks to Job Corps, she’s on the path to completing training in the office administration program.

“Office administration, what you learn here, you can do any field because you need all the skills that you learn in officer administration: talking with customers, doing Microsoft Word.”

Zoe wants to go coding school next and then college to further her education. She says Job Corps has helped her zero in on her career goals.

“The staff, they’ve helped me to be able to narrow that down.”

She’s grateful for Job Corps.

“It helps you set up a plan for life, and to be successful, all around successful.”
