Sierra Nevada Job Corps Students Headed to National Skills Competition

Hundreds of hand-picked vocational students from dozens of high schools and technical institutes in Nevada met in Reno to compete against each other in Skills Nevada, a wide variety of contests designed to test proficiency in everything from architectural drafting to welding fabrication. “It was exciting to meet working professionals who showed us how we could improve our employability. I look forward to visiting a new city in June. I’m just lucky to have this experience,” adds Nataly Juraez Pina who’s headed to the national competition.

“I had a great time meeting students from all over the state,” said pharmacy technician student and Nationals contestant Aaron Hidalgo, “and I think I’ll do well in Louisville. I know my stuff.”
