South Bronx Job Corps Prepares Young Man for Success in Culinary Arts

Demar Linton began his career at the South Bronx Job Corps Center where he excelled in the culinary-arts program. Demar took his training very seriously, and always looked for opportunities to improve his skills including working in the cafeteria.

He was later accepted to the advanced training program at Treasure Island Job Corps in San Francisco. Job Corps gives students vital training opportunities with employers. Demar took the opportunity to serve meals at an event hosted by the Mersea Restaurant in San Francisco. The owner said he was so impressed by Demar’s level of professionalism that he decided to hire him on the spot!

Demar is now employed and working his way up in the restaurant industry—all thanks to Job Corps.
