Get PAID TO PLAY every workday as part of our recreation staff!

We are looking for energetic, creative people who enjoy participating in and educating students about recreation, especially intramural sports.  Our program currently includes: basketball, football, soccer, volleyball, dodgeball, softball, and disk golf.

Applicants must be able to obtain CDL license.  DOT guidelines for interstate CDL driving requires applicants to be at least 21 years of age or older and pass a physical including a drug-test.

Wages: $14.00/hour, plus $500 sign-on payment!


Wed-Thurs: 3:30-10:00 pm;
Fri: 3:00 pm - Midnight;
Sat: 2:00 pm - Midnight;
Sunday 11:30 am - 10:00 pm


As part of our recreation team, you will plan, implement, and coordinate a comprehensive and diversified intramural program that attracts student participation. Our rec center also offers students a broad array of activities: a movie theater, music room, game room, billiard room, weight room, racquetball court, arts and crafts room, and more -- plus outings to local activities and events.

One year paid, volunteer, or personal experience participating in team sports and/or fitness programs. Ability to lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing 30 lbs. and quickly run up and down stairs.  Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. Willingness to obtain a commercial driver’s license within 6 months of hire.

Experience working or volunteering with youth.  Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency.  Strong intervention skills when observing negative behaviors.

About Tongue Point:
Tongue Point Job Corps Center is operated by Management & Training Corporation (MTC) for the U.S. Department of Labor. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. 

Tongue Point offers students training in 15 vocations: building construction technology, carpentry, cement masonry, computer service technology, culinary, dental assisting, electrical, glazing, medical assisting, office administration, painting, plastering, welding, and seamanship. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program, and seamanship is the Center's largest vocation with 120 students.
