See Video Highlights of Arizona State Prison-Marana’s Relay for Life Event

Arizona State Prison—Marana recently held its first ever Relay for Life event to benefit the American Cancer Society. Offenders raised money through a variety of activities including a walk, a BBQ, and games such as horseshoes, cornhole, and basketball.

Some offenders talked about their experiences with cancer. One explained that he was a cancer survivor. Another told how he lost his mother recently to cancer.

The event brought everyone together as they united in the fight against a disease that has touched us all in one way or another.

American Cancer Society representatives Laura Theobald and William VanPelt visited the facility on the day of the event and accepted a check for just over $5,000.
