Staff at MTC’s Imperial Regional Detention Facility in Calexico, California recently came upon a Google review that brought a smile to the entire facility.

Bryan Perez, a former detainee housed at Imperial for six months, gave the facility four out of five stars, and wrote that while living there he came closer to God.

“I made friends,” he stated.  “I met good people.”

He went on to praise two officers who made a difference to him, officers Mora and Larios.

“They will always be very special to me, and I hope one day to be able to shake their hands.”

MTC operates four detention facilities for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, or ICE, where we strive to provide detainees with an environment of cleanliness, respect, and dignity. Whenever possible, we also offer self-improvement and enrichment opportunities through programming, volunteer organizations, and cultural celebrations.
