“I want to say thank you very much” says one IAH Detainee

As a detainee at the IAH Detention Center in Livingston, Texas, Olbin Cantarero-Benitez says he’s been treated well. The facility cares for approximately 1,000 individuals who are held by Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Oblin says while he’d obviously rather be home with his family, the staff at the facility treat everyone with respect and dignity.

“I want to let you know how grateful I am for the service that you provide to us since the first day I got here. Every time I need to go to the doctor, the officers take me and they give me medication if I need it. The detention officers treat us very well and they make sure that we are fine. The truth is that I am very grateful. I know I will be leaving one day, and I want to say thank you very much for everything.”
