Oregon Congresswoman Calls Job Corps “Life-Changing Program”

Representative Suzanne Bonamici (D-OR) sees the value of providing education and training to American youth who need a jump-start and direction in their lives. She’s been a longtime supporter of the program—especially MTC’s Tongue Point Job Corps Center (Astoria, OR) which is in her district and the Springdale Job Corps Center in Troutdale.

“The Job Corps program helps many young people access job training and education, often when they have no other options,” says Congresswoman Bonamici. “It’s a life-changing program and an effective way to help them be successful and shape their own futures. Additionally, Job Corps supplies workers that many trades and businesses need as their workforce ages and retires. I’m proud to support Tongue Point Job Corps and other Job Corp programs. It’s always inspiring to hear from Job Corps students about their passion for their work and their education.”
