Quintin stated that “Job Corps provides the training and education I needed to be successful in the workplace.  I thank the staff, my counselor, and Pharmacy Tech instructors who supported me and gave me the confidence to say, I can do this!”

You will find Quintin working full-time in the pharmacy at Walgreens providing great customer service and showing pride in his work.  His fellow classmates will soon follow in his footsteps. The Pharmacy Tech students and staff are all happy to see Quintin achieve his goals working as a Pharmacy Tech.  The students look forward to participating in Chicago Job Corps work-based learning program (WBL). This program provides students with a great opportunity to work for employers like Walgreens, CVS, or Walmart.

Walgreens is a proud sponsor of the students at the Paul Simon Chicago Job Corps Center.  The pharmacy tech students are assigned WBL at Walgreens, hospitals, and other companies. The majority of students assigned to Walgreens for WBL are hired immediately after graduating from Job Corps.  Walgreens’s Pharmacist Ashleigh M. assists student interns in their training as they prepare to work as full-time Pharmacy Technicians in the Chicagoland area.  “We are so happy to see our new interns as they come licensed, certified, and ready to work with us,” Ashleigh said.
