Indianola native Roscoe Barnes III has been working to preserve the memory of Civil Rights activist Anne Moody and her contributions to the movement for several years. The most recent accomplishment is the renaming of a portion of Highway 24 in Wilkinson County for Moody. The dedication for the new sign was held recently. More than 200 people packed the sanctuary of the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church on the day of the dedication. More than 70 students from the Wilkinson County High School attended.
