Congressman Brian Babin (R-Woodville) was in Polk County on Oct. 25. While here he toured the IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility along with several aides from his local and capital offices.

Facility management staff and ICE officials gathered to greet the US Representative. After introductions were made, the Congressman spent time talking with staff and sharing his observations regarding congressional actions and laws. He expressed gratitude for those who are involved in enforcing the country’s laws.

After the initial meeting a facility tour included recreation areas, food service, medical, living quarters and intake. Babin interacted with staff, asking questions about what jobs are done in the facility.

IAH Facility Warden Ray Terry stated the facility’s appreciation for Rep. Babin’s visit, as well as the Congressman’s interest in the employees and processes of the facility.

“There are so many stories and false narratives that circulate regarding facilities nowadays. We are so grateful Congressman Babin took time to come see our wonderful employees and the great job they are doing,” Terry said.

The IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility houses people for ICE and the US Marshall Service under a contract with the federal government. Management and Training Corporation manages the facility to insure all federal standards and regulations are met.
