Carpentry Students at Edison Job Corps Prepare for New Career by Serving

Carpentry students at the Edison Job Corps Center recently volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Plainfield, New Jersey to help build homes in their local community. The students demonstrated the skills they learned in carpentry classes, such as reading blueprints, cutting wood, building the roof, and organizing the work site. The students worked hard to fulfill the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

Coordinator Kamili Williams was full of praise for the Job Corps students.

“On behalf of Habitat for Humanity of greater Plainfield & Middlesex County, thank you so much. You’re an amazing group of volunteers. Edison Job Corps students made a big difference. We are extremely grateful for all of your generous support, time, skills, and energy in making the group build in Plainfield a major success!”

This initiative is part of a budding relationship with Habitat of Humanity and the Edison Job Corps to make the lives of local families better.
