Wind River Director Reflects Upon First Two Years

The Wind River Job Corps Center in Riverton, Wyoming recently celebrated its two-year anniversary! Center Director Julie Gassner says it’s been a very rewarding two years.

“It’s been a fantastic journey. From the very first day on August 4, 2015 when the magnificent seven students arrived; their excitement, their energy, their enthusiasm, how they helped to shape the center, build the foundation and get other students excited. The staff that have been here from the beginning and those that have come and joined us over the course of two years. They each bring different values and perspectives, and they make the center for what it is today. Our students are happy. Staff are happy. They can see that they’re making a difference in the lives of our students. To see that light bulb go off, to see the enthusiasm in their eyes and to hear them say this is why I’m here. So it’s been a great journey.  The community has embraced us. And the state is embracing us. And our students are getting fantastic jobs and getting wonderful careers. So it’s been a great journey, and I look forward to many years to come!”
