LOST GAP, Miss. (WTOK) — A special visitor made a stop at a local prison Friday to spread some Christmas joy.

Santa Claus came out to see kids and the fathers who are in prison at East Mississippi Correctional Facility. This is a special event for not only the fathers who will not be able to spend Christmas with their families, but for the kids as well. The children played Christmas games with their fathers and told Santa what they want for Christmas.

“Fifteen different offenders get to see their kids. Some of them come as far as Florida, so it’s been a special day,” said Ray Rice, the deputy warden of EMCF. “It’s going to be a special day for the rest of the day. Something that they won’t forget.”

This was their first Christmas visitation.
