Dalby Facility Uses New Monitors to Share Important Information with Inmates

The MTC-operated Giles W. Dalby Correctional Facility in Post, Texas, recently came up with a great idea to keep inmates informed. The facility installed two monitors outside the education building. One provides information about the various programs offered at the facility, schedules, and other program-specific information.

“It’s really important that we communicate with the men in our care about our programs,” says Programs Manager John Powell. “The COVID-19 Pandemic impacted the way we provide rehabilitation programs, so the more we can communicate the changes to our clients, the better.”

The other monitor provides inmates with safety information related to the COVID-19 Pandemic including videos and PowerPoint presentations in English and Spanish.

“These monitors reinforce the safety messages staff share with the men daily including the importance of wearing masks, social distancing, washing hands frequently, and avoiding touching their eyes, nose, and mouth,” adds John.
