Inmate at North Central Facility Says Staff have “Been There for Me When I Needed Them the Most”

MTC correctional officers and other correctional staff at our facilities place the highest priority on safety and security while showing great compassion to the men and women they serve. We know that with the right types of rehabilitation programs and a positive environment, people who have made poor decisions in the past, can change and have a brighter future.

The North Central Correctional Complex in Marion, Ohio is a great example of this BIONIC approach. And don’t take it from us. Here’s a letter an inmate sent to Warden Neil Turner to express his appreciation for the way he’s been treated.

Michael Spies

“I don’t know if you get many letters like this. This is an appreciation and thank you letter to this company. See, I have been in prisons going on nine years. Over the years, I have gotten to know your staff really well. They treat me with great respect, and I do the same. They’ve been there for me when I needed them the most throughout the years.

See, I don’t have any help on the other side of this fence; no family support when you need it the most. I have [a medical illness] I am dealing with. If it wasn’t for your staff showing how much they care about me, to tell you the truth, I couldn’t make it in here. You could say they are my family because they are my support. I thank God every day for the people he blessed me with.”
