See How MTC Supports the Small City of Diboll, Texas

“We have a small town here, and we’re very fortunate to have all the different organizations.”

So says Loretta Christmas, the tourism director of the City of Diboll in Texas.

As the operator of the Diboll Correctional Center, MTC is proud to be a part of the Diboll community and to be considered one of the town’s supporters. Lepher Jenkins is the warden.

“We’re part of the community,” he explains, “so, therefore, we want to be involved in the day-to-day things that take place in our community. So, if we can get out and help out with the school districts, we do. If we can get out and help with the community, we do. That’s something that a lot of our offenders and our staff are very appreciative of, and they really enjoy going out and being involved in the day-to-day activity of the public.”

“They are such an asset to us here,” affirms Ms. Christmas. “They come out and they help us. There are several events here at the Civic Center where they need volunteers to come in and help the elderly or something along that line. They come out and they help; the guys will come out, they’ll help set up, they’ll come back, and they’ll help clean up. So, it’s just a great partnership within the whole community.”
