“So, our E3 conference, this is our first ever virtual conference that is sponsored by our new, relatively new, engaged learning team.  That was formed a year ago. The three “E”s refer to engagement, excellence, and equity.”

MTC believes all three areas of focus are critical to establish and promote the kind of learning opportunities we want to have for every person we serve at MTC.

“There are sessions about equity and how to create an inclusive, welcoming environment,” says Dave. “There are sessions about excellence that really refer to the most effective strategy’s that we can use to help people learn and grow in our facilities. And, then we have a whole track on engagement which is about motivating people and encouraging them and inspiring them to be their best.”

MTC knows everyone has a role in helping the people we serve believe in themselves and reach their greatest potential in life. Scott Marquardt, president of MTC, shares MTC’s future plans.

“We’re going to develop MTC’s way of successfully implementing these programs, across Job Corps, Corrections, our international work force development projects…We want to get students ready to learn when they come into a classroom…The intent here is how can we achieve the greatest average gains for the highest percentage of our client population.”

“Again, we feel like everyone has a role in encouraging, inspiring and motivating the people we serve,” adds Dave. “And, in creating the kind of inclusive equitable environment we need to have to make everybody feel welcome and comfortable doing that.”
